The first book in this series was great but by this book, I found my mind wandering. I think some series lose steam when an author starts to drag out a storyline. One page in book 1 turns into a chapter in book 4. In my opinion, that is happening here.This author is good but even good authors don't always recognize when to put an end to a storyline. But I imagine it would be tough for a writer to let go of a story that earns great reviews and builds their readerbase. it is human nature to keep doing what works rather than start fresh with a new, untested story with new characters that may not be as well received.Just like readers don't want a series to end, I think authors feel the same way.
Mr. Melchiorri has written number 5 in a continually running extremely well written sci-fi series. As usual it continues the story line and keeps the reader very interested it the action. As I have said before the story is great but sometimes Captain Dom behaves like a less than smart leader. I mean he’s got monsters after his team, team members are dead and he is upset because he has to kill some of the enemy soldiers. Come off it, they are trying to kill him, have already killed most of the world, then I would be killing them without any reservation.
Wow! The series keeps delivering the goods in spades. Another great installment (the longest one yet) full of post-apocalyptic mayhem and action. We finally receive some answers and hints to long awaited questions about the Oni agent too.Good stuff!
The story continues to evolve into a very dangerous and complicated war against the most horrible things that can happen when the most dangerous villains in the future will be different than the most horrible things that are not willing to be destroyed. However, the hunters are not willing to quit trying to destroy the skills and the goliaths and the titans and the oni pathogen and more importantly,the monsters who were involved in creating and using it to destroy the world.
A great addition to a great series. The only problem I have with this series is that I do a lot of my reading in bed before going to sleep. This series is not conducive to putting you to sleep. I find it very difficult to find a place to stop and put it down. I just keep reading and wind up staying up a lot later than I intended. If you like really good action this is a great series.
I can't say enough about The Tide series. I left a review on book one, then surged through books 2-5. I think "non-stop" action was the term I used after book one. I only thought, I knew what I was talking about. The action becomes more fierce, the creatures, larger and more frightening and, "The Hunters" more adroit at disposing of them. Strong women, men, scientists, military and civilian alike, remain determined to fight the evil, and discover who and what is responsible for the origin of the bio-weapon. The Tide series takes you from the end of WWII through the present, and across the Atlantic Ocean to find the perpetrators of the evil killing the world. A definite 5 star series.
Love this addition to the series. Very epic in scope, I could really see this in the big screen.Loved getting to know Frank a better, wasn't sure I'd enjoy that part of this story, but I should have known better. Parts of his story actually had me cheering for him.Dom and the crew are on an adventure that is nothing short of nail biting. It also made me cry. Again. Hate when he makes me cry, but this story also has some epic knock down fighting that is incredibly fun to read. Can't wait for the next book to come out in this series.
I absolutely love this series. This one def had me at the edge of my. The exploration of other locals and people seem to be the start of the new Hunter Army and the end of this horrifing diease.There is so much going on in this book I frequently had to reread pages to make sure I really what I thought I read. Anthony. You are a true talent. I will follow anything you write. Thank you
