Giving 5 starts alone , on the fact that this is so kindle for my iPhone friendly !!! The different colors for gluten free ans a different color for the name of the recipe make a huge difference you can tell she put her time into making it look very good on kindle instead of the typical black background white writing ( which i know u can change the themes ) but with my all black background i really think it makes reading on kindle easier an i wish more authors who sell on kindle can make it as organized as Jen , kudos !!!

Keto in 30 Minutes, Jen Fisch follows up on her international best selling Keto 5 Ingredients Cookbook with this 100 terrific Keto Recipes collected for families and individuals seeking to live the healthy lifestyle this super low-carb friendly approach to eating offers. If you're going Keto, with her numerous variations and quick prep tips, this is a Must Have cookbook for your Keto Cooking collection! Her Keto in Nutshell provided one of the better summaries of how America’s current diet lifestyle of the USDA Food Pyramid put us in glycosis, ruled by the levels of sugar in our bloodstream. I found it to be one of the clearest descriptions and one which I could convey readily to others in a way that made sense to summarize the contrast in what essentially a complete FLIP of the Food Pyramid as we understand it. Super helpful. As a single mom with kids who eat Keto, too, and therefore, all of her selected recipes here are “Kid-Approved” this cookbook delivers 100 fast recipes easy to prepare on a daily basis. I really like her overview and introduction to Keto making it accessible for more American’s who are intrigued by this diet lifestyle without a lot of the complications which a number of other cookbooks overwhelm readers with. She says 20 net carbs per day, I’ve heard 25 from others, to start out and then you adjust slightly for your own body’s response. Fisch recommends Keto Sticks test strips apparently readily available at local pharmacies. I’ve heard others suggest other physical methods to determine you’re Ketosis, but I’m inclined to go with Fisch’s recommendation to use the Keto Sticks. I just think they’re clearer and then I know for sure. I prefer clarity to being hopeful and incorrect.I really appreciated how Fisch goes into both how family and friends might be a little resistant and how we and our USDA indoctrinated thinking might be a little resistant for awhile but to persevere and to actually aim to EAT all of our food for fuel and not fall back into “low calorie” diet lifestyle thinking. Personally, I already know that is going to be a bit of challenge for me and I’m planning to segue into Keto and not just aim to magically de-carb my household and flip the switch managing to eat Keto-perfectly “starting on Monday” as we do in so many other “diets.”I’ve already started by cutting out eating massive amounts of bread which I was doing for fiber, and clearing out even complex carb rices and quinoa. I just discovered while I thought I was being terrific in cutting back on my carbs and adjusting my eating to Keto that a food I’d been eating daily actually had a ton more carbs than I had remotely realized. I phoned my Low Carbing sister and we shared a laugh. After that, I read the labels on even things like Greek Yogurt to discover that the brand for sale at my local store that the Low Fat, not the Full Fat, had the better Carb count by far.Start reading food labels like it’s a new religion and you’ll be astounded at what has more net carbs than you thought and where sugar has been snuck in, like in store-bought mayonnaise. I had to shop for that a few years back, found one, and we already made that switch 2 years ago. I’m likely to keep iddy biddy amounts of legumes in my eating periodically, but I’ll probably be strict with that one I’m fully doing Keto and then just add 1 TBSP to my bowl of homemade soup. We’ll see, because the scale will tell me the truth of whether or not I can really do that. Her Keto “Diet Guidelines” offer a terrific approach to moving your kitchen, shopping, and lifestyle into Keto living.Unless you have a thousand plus dollars on hand to play with for your fridge and kitchen, it’s going to take some time to stock your fridge, pantry, and freezer with all of the Keto friendly ingredients and appliances you’ll want over time. Personally, on the appliances front, I find my Spiralizer (yes, which I bought here at Amazon 2 yrs ago) a weekly godsend for getting pasta off the pantry self and more veggies into us without the glucose hangover from wheat durum. I’d love to add the cast iron skillet and another 2 small skillets for my own meal needs, leaving the ones we already have for my partner for his self-made meals, but all of that’s going to take a month or two to do.On the shopping and prepping front, I didn’t quite see it in the book, but it might be there. Plan on needing to hit the grocery store more than once a week so your veggies are super fresh. Also, once you get a feel for the veggies which will be your core weekly veggies, keep an eye out for when they are on sale, buy a ton of them, and the wash, chop, prep them and freeze them so you always have some on hand for when what’s in the produce area is picked over or just doesn’t cut it today. For us, that broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, zucchini and eggplant. Just know that the zuccs and eggplants which are frozen will need to be used in soups and sauces and not at the firm slices for a snack or sandwich bread variation.Additionally, keep an eye out of great deal on free range eggs. They will be a staple for many of us. When they’re on sale, stock up a few dozen. They both keep for awhile and you’ll be plowing through them each week. As a single person with an additional egg eater not at my level, I would easily stock up on 5-6 dozen when on sale with no worries for spoilage. If it gets paste 2 or 3 weeks and you’re concerned, just hard boil ‘em and make egg salad and Jen’s yummy deviled eggies.Because Fisch was battling an inflammatory illness when she first selected to manage it better with Keto, some of what she highly suggests we use may be great, but they are pricey, not 100% necessary for each of us, and we can slowly build up stocking out kitchen with those, but don’t need to right out of the gate. Sure, Grass Fed organic Ghee is one of the ideal healthy fats. But it’s quite pricey. If you’re considering Keto because of an illness, that may be an essential item for you to purchase asap. However, elsewhere I’ve read that regular butter is ok, grass-fed being the next best. I’ll stick to regular butter and add more “clean” foods over time.Just to give you a quick visual overview of this wonderful quick prep Keto cookbook:Introduction viiPART I Ketogenic Diet 101Chapter 1 Keto in a Nutshell 1Chapter 2 Prepping for Success: Tips & Tricks for an Easy Keto Lifestyle 11PART II The Recipes 23 (drum roll, please!)Chapter 3 Quick Keto Basics 25Chapter 4 Breakfast 41Chapter 5 Soups and Salads 61Chapter 6 Lunch & Dinner 79Chapter 7 Snacks 103Chapter 8 Sides 117Chapter 9 Drinks & Dessert 131Her two page spread on Keto-Approved Foods and Foods to Avoid is JUST the kind of super helpful summary which I felt the Super Shred Diet neglected to provide. So, even though Keto flips the Food Pyramid on its head and we all need to adjust out thinking quite dramatically, having these terrific summaries makes creating a shopping list completely manageable and is my mental check for if I’m really managing to do my new “Keto Way” of thinking about food correctly.Chapter 3 Quick Keto Basics includes making your own mayonnaise, which is fairly unlikely I’ll be bothering with for awhile until I reacquire a hand held blender, ditto on Ranch and Blue Cheese Dressings. I didn’t really need a recipe teaching me how to make my own whipped cream. A Cheese Sauce with a Keto substitution flour for all those lovely veggies we’ll be eating would have been more worthwhile to me. But perhaps Jen already covered that in her first international best-seller Keto cookbook. In addition, her approach to baking bacon for “Perfectly Cooked Bacon” not only did I find unnecessary for me, but to follow it would make for a lot more clean up than frying it as well as losing out on collecting that bacon fat gold into a coffee mug and storing it in the fridge. I baste my breakfast eggs with it for my super fast eggies breakfast. To me, bacon fat is Keto gold. So many veggies can be sautéed in it if you’re not vegetarian.Additionally, the pan I cooked the bacon in is then my go-to pan for starting any kind of eggies such as scrambled eggs because the bacon fat is already in the pan and offers just a bit of bacon flavor to the eggs! I’d lose all that bacon-infused joy if I baked my bacon. Additionally, since we stock up on the Ends and Bits bacon at the store, breaking it out into small ziplock bags and sticking a lot of it in the freezer, we are ever well stocked on Bacon. Bacon grease has tremendous flavor and can be used as a fat for cooking as well, like in Fried Cauliflower “Rice” dishes instead of the vastly more expensive Ghee. If you’re not vegetarian, it’s a great item to think of using. It does smoke faster than some other fats, so just start with a medium heat for cooking with it. I haven’t even started cooking chicken with skin yet, but I imagine the chicken schmaltz is promising, too. Keep in a container or mug in the freezer for all these sort of things. Her Chapter 4 on Breakfast offers a number of dishes with variation so I’m not just stuck eating basted eggs or scrambled eggs with broccoli and cheese for breakfast. I really like that she provided more than one option for a frittata or breakfast bake dish because, indeed, eggies are a Keto cheap protein staple. Her breakfast options also include some other fun options including cereal, granola bars, Keto Pancakes, muffins, hash and smoothies.Chapter 5 Soups and Salads takes at least a few yummy soups we love like the Italian Sausage Soup so reminiscent in Italian Cookbooks and make them Keto friendly, removing the legumes. Personally, I’d like add a bit more spinach, but that’s just our preference. I really like her Chicken Salad and her variations suggestions which she makes throughout the cookbook’s collection of Keto recipes. I was particularly grateful for her Asian Slaw recipe because I’m quite fond of Chinese Chicken Salad and read the salad dressing label for what we use and it’s loaded with sugar. She already provided me with a fix before I even had to go search for one! It was on my LIST of food faves I was going to have to adjust and make Keto.Chapter 6 Lunch & Dinner offers 21 recipes to keep our meals varied. Personally, we would lean heavily on the Soups and Salads options especially for getting in sufficient healthy fiber at a low net carb level. I had already been wondering what I was going to eat for lunch without getting into my tuna salad or egg salad rut. Although Fisch does provide us with a Bread recipe making sandwiches theoretically an option, ever since I invested a small fortune in trying 2 Paleo Breads 2 years ago and loathing them, I just prefer to eat half a slice of the real thing with massive fiber or use different veggies to hold the sandwich insides and add flavor. Since traditional sandwiches are out, I particularly like the dinner and lunch recipes. For the first week or two, having the same thing for lunch the next day after dinner tonight is fine, but we’ll need more varied options and Fisch delivers 21 options to keep the variety going for weeks on end. I’m particularly looking forward to trying her Beef Stroganoff recipe out. I’ve seen 1 other, and will have to try her to see about variations. The Steak & Egg Bibimbap which is featured in the image for the chapter looks yummy, terrific, and pretty easy to prepare with ingredients I already pretty much have around the house or are inexpensive to add to the weekly grocery shopping. However, I never peel my cucumber since all of the chlorophyll nutrients are in the green exterior skin. Just our thing. The variations she keeps providing for many of the recipes are just terrific. I’ll be able to enjoy those, but to my partner, if it’s the same base item, it’s the same meal and he’ll want variety. This is fine. It just means he’s on his own for dinner at least a few nights per week. If you’re a family with kids, you might need to use a different recipe altogether than relying on the variations which I love.Chapter 7 Snacks Oh thank God! I am in love with Spanakopita which is too high carb to fit Keto. But it has so much spinach and feta in it, I was hoping to figure out a substitute. Jen read my mind and offers up Cheesy Spinach Puffs with a Feta cheese variation. I’m looking forward to attempting this later. A number of the snacks, rethink “snacks” to being “mini-portions” of health food, are so terrific, like the Bacon-Cheese Deviled Eggs, that I’ll likely add a bowl of salad to them on the side and eat them as a lunch option. 11 yummy options including bacon wrapped yummies.Chapter 8 Sides 12 terrific options for preparing our veggies beyond some of the basic ways I already do. Again, wish there was a Keto friendly cheese sauce recipe. The Thai Peanut Roasted Cauliflower and Roasted Radishes with Brown Butter Sauce. Hey! A Keto friendly root veggie I can use for roasting when I want to do a Roasted Chicken with Stuff but not all the high carb traditional ones. Looking forward both to those two recipes as well as the discover of Radishes to play with.Chapter 9 Drinks & Dessert I already had 1 Keto friendly dessert in place and hadn’t really been planning on them, but now reading her chapter on some delicious sounding options, I will definitely play with these.Fisch hits it out of the Keto Cookbook park again. With her practical tips about advance prep on the weekend of some of the items which we’ll need during the week, aiming to bring a meal to the dinner table in really just about 30 minutes is just great. Combining those with her individual dish variations and we’ll be eating really well for months on these. As I’m segueing onto Keto, a girlfriend of mine is considering it, too. I’ve already pointed her here to Fisch’s excellent book because not only are the recipes terrific and promising, but her explanation of the Keto Diet I found great and easy to understand with the marvelous comparison of Ketosis and Glycolysis. It’s very clear for understanding the sound nutrition behind Keto and the difference of what the USDA Food Pyramid has been purporting for years despite current science studies.I received a copy of the book from the publisher for an honest review. I hope you find it helpful in determining to purchase Fisch’s wonderful quick Keto 30 minutes meals cookbook.Feb 15 Update: I'm down 13 lbs in 5 wks, not more only because I'm recovering health wise and am not able to exercise yet as I normally would. And I don't have the GluOver sluggishness the afternoon of or the morning following eating a bunch of even complex carb bread. If your doctor oks this with whatever your unique health issues are, this could be a terrific Diet/Lifestyle to do.

The book for review is “Keto in 30 minutes” edited by Jen Fisch. What do you know about Keto? It seems to be the rage lately with celebrities and every day people talking about how it has changed their lives.Part one has two sections. The first goes into what Keto is. One gets a nice summary of it. The second section you how to prepare or restructure your kitchen prior to going into the recipes. This includes cleaning out your pantry, going shopping, must have appliances just for starters.Part two of this book is when you get into the recipes. You get 100 of these. These ranges from bread, sauces, dressings and so forth which you will use as part of some of the recipes to come. And as other cookbooks do you go from breakfast, soup and salads, lunch and dinner, snacks, side dishes, and drinks and desserts.I also have wondered what was up with Keto. This book gave me some good information and amazing recipes to try out for myself. What I liked was at the end it had advice for going out to eat. The recipes are easy to follow and the pictures are beautifully done. This was a well laid out cookbook.I received this book for free from the Callisto Publishing Club but the opinions are my own.

I really like this book. The recipes presented cover such favorites as root bear float or deviled eggs. As someone who likes homecooking, most of the recipes in this book are items that I could see myself preparing for my family. I mean, who has a problem with Tomato Basil Soup or Pancakes. This recipe book really underscores that most dishes can be adapted to the diet that are you adhering to and that living with specific dietary restrictions does not mean that have to forego favorite foods.I am really impressed by the selection of recipes in this book and how well the author managed to create a book that reads like a cookbook for a college student, but is actually a guide to a keto diet.I received a free copy of the book from the publisher for review purposes. The opinion expressed in this post is my own and has not been influenced by any third party.

This Keto cookbook has down to earth, real recipes, using real ingredients that are common in the average kitchen. It is easy to read and the directions are clear. Quality of book and materials is it printed on are good quality as well.

I have been Keto for a year, and am always looking for ways to "fine-tune" my menu, and still keeping it simple. This book will serve a beginner too! From basic Keto information, to yummy recipes, I will recommend this book to those who ask me for direction. I'm so glad I recieved a review copy from the publisher, because sometimes new ideas are hard to come by!

I love cookbooks. I have dozens of them but this one is my favorite keto cookbook and I use it all the time. It’s probably because of how quick these recipes come together. They’re simple but flavorful and the recipes are fresh ideas like steak & egg bibimbap, scrambled cinnamon & cream cheese eggs (yes!), and cheesy spinach puffs. I was given this book for an honest review.
