Cruden's Classic is a tool that all KJB Bible readers should have. His was the first concordance to have portions of the specific verse of where the word was used in the listings. It is in three columns per page and the type face is pretty small, (hence the 4 stars instead of 5). This is a decent copy of his third and last edition that he personally did before he died. With some "updates" for the ESV and ASV.
I've lost count of how many copies of Cruden's Concordance I've had. Three I ordered for myself at various times; one or two I gave away to people who had never heard of a concordance. Now I've just ordered yet another.The important point about Cruden's (as contrasted with Strong's and other concordances and Bible guides that I've used) is that it tells all I want to know, but not so much that I get overwhelmed with information overload.If you grew up with the King James Bible, as many of us did, Cruden's concordance is still an indispensable ally in finding Bible verses that you "know are there somewhere, but just can't remember where."
I was devastated when my old Cruden's Complete Concordance to the Old and New Testaments did not make our move from out of state in usable condition. I had been unable to find another that was within my price range. I located this copy listed as "paper back, like new condition". The price was right and ordered it immediately. The book actually is a hard backed book and is in new condition. What a fantastic surprise! Cruden's is an excellent biblical reference book.
Used book in great shape. I am 63 years old, and used my first Cruden's Concordance when I was a teenager. This is a great resource for beginning and Intermediate Bible students, and can even be a good source for more advanced users to do a quick search for known scriptures, or to run down the scriptures on a given topic or topic cluster. I recommend this book for anyone who studies the Bible.
So good that it makes me wonder how I have managed on a paperback copy given to me at the Billy Graham Crusade in Phoenix, Ariz in 1972 or 73 - now missing front and back covers!
I love this book and I know it will get many years of great use. I could not believe the price on this and am grateful to the seller!Philippians 2:9-11 "Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: --10-- That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; --11-- And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
The focus was very heavy on the old testament. The writer was ignorant of the change of covenants and the impact.
This was a gift for my son. I've had one for years and years - had to tape the cover to reinforce it. This is the best Concordance, period.
